"Celebrate life and living". That phrase keeps ringing in my mind. I'm not depressed, but sometimes I need to remind myself of the blessings around me. It's a habit now. Maybe I need it; maybe I don't. It's something I do to practice gratitude all year 'round.
Gifts are fun to find, and fun to give. I can be grateful for what I have at Christmas, and I can also be grateful for the opportunity to give something to someone else. I love ornamentals xmas as a Christmas gift. Both to give and to receive. It's something that lasts, something that's always there to remind you of the special time you had with someone. Ornaments created in glass are also beautiful, little works of art that don't only have to be displayed on the Christmas tree. Sometimes I pull a few out and make a table decoration. I like the glass ornament shop. They have decent prices, but most of all, they have a huge selection of both inexpensive and upper price range glass ornaments.
This year, I've decided that I'm going to make my list of everyone I need to give a gift to, and then think of some words that remind me of that person.
For example, when I think of my best friend, I think of flowers and Spring. I'm going to find a brightly pastel-colored glass Christmas ornament with a bunny and flowers. And then I'll write her a little note about how much she means to me, and reminds me of life force, like we see in the abundant life of Springtime. I'm likely to get my kids each a glass ornament for some activity they do, most likely sports.
As I think about gratitude, I realize that my expression of it to others also comes back to me. I'm grateful for these things the people in my life bring to the table, so to speak. My son's love of football actually brings me joy to watch it. My friend's ebullient character spills into my heart and always lifts me up. Interesting how giving something away has a backlash. These are good ones, and I've made a note to keep up the good works, for all of us.
